Original Knee Strap

Dual Action Knee Strap

The Dual Action Knee Strap (Patent Pending). When Cho-Pat first introduced the Original (Patented) Cho-Pat Knee Strap to the market nearly two decades ago, little did it know that the simple device would revolutionize the treatment of certain knee disorders, and be recommended by the medical and sports profession and be used by nearly 2,000,000 individuals of all ages and endeavors throughout the world.
The Cho-Pat Knee Strap was designed to alleviate the pain and discomfort due to Chondromalacia patella syndrome and patellar tendonitis. Shortly after introduction, we found the knee strap quite effective for Osgood-Schlatter's disease, iliotibial band syndrome and reducing the erosion of the undersurface of the kneecap. It accomplishes this by tightening up on the kneecap mechanism by applying pressure upon the patellar tendon below the kneecap.
The Dual Action Knee Strap incorporates some of the advantages of the original Knee Strap plus the added benefits of further strengthening the kneecap mechanism by applying pressure on the tendon above the kneecap as well. This tends to reduce the forces of the quadriceps on the patella tendon and erosion of the under surface of the kneecap due to a possible misalignment of the quadriceps (Q-angle).
Additionally, because of the nature of the material, (neoprene) the device applies constant dynamic forces to the surrounding areas of the knee joint thus reducing the likelihood of iliotibial band and overuse syndromes so prevalent in the very active.

Dynamic Knee Compression Sleeve

Cho-Pat^® combined a soft, flexible Microcell foam neoprene (tricol fabric covered) for the front and sides with the polyolefin and lycra material for the back panel.
This material is especially formulated to resist bacteria and fungus. It has hydrophobic qualities to facilitate movement of moisture away from the skin and the four-way stretch conforms to the configuration of the knee. The thermo reaction generated by this device provides therapeutic benefits.
The Dynamic Knee Compression Sleeve should fit snugly but not impede circulation. Measurement should be taken 3" to 4" above the kneecap. Order the next larger size if a measurement is over the higher number.
